Abduction, the new film directed by John Singleton, is scheduled to be released on September 23, 20011. The film represents a mixture of action, adventure and thriller starring Taylor Lautner in the leading role.

Nathan begins to recollect pieces of his real identity and becomes a target for killers who force him to escape. His neighbor Karen (Lily Collins) is the only person Nathan can trust. The spec script for the film was written by Shawn Christensen for Abduction and it was purchased by Lionsgate in February 2010. Lionsgate won a bidding competition for this screenplay and finally paid $1 million.

Jeffrey Nachmanoff was working on the screenplay and John Singleton started directing in March. Filming started in July. Taylor Lautner’s father, Dan Lautner, is one of producers of the film: it is the first from Tailor Made Entertainment brand. The budget of Abduction was around $40 million.
